The Story
The Afro pick is one of the most culturally significant objects in Black American history. Born in the 1960s alongside the Black Power movement, it became a symbol of pride, resistance, and the unapologetic beauty of natural Black hair.
The raised fist handle — first popularised by the Black Panther Party — transformed a grooming tool into a statement. To wear a pick in your hair was to say: I am here. My hair is beautiful. And I am not ashamed.
The Crown Pick honours that legacy. Crafted with a 24-karat gold-plated raised fist and matte black tines with gold tips, it is designed to be both a functional tool for natural hair and a collectible piece of cultural art.
"To wear the pick is to carry the crown."
Craftsmanship

Photographed against obsidian black, the pick's silhouette is unmistakable — a raised fist reaching upward, tines extending downward like roots.

Sculpted in zinc alloy and plated in 24-karat gold, the fist handle is anatomically detailed — knuckles, tendons, and all. A symbol cast in metal.

Eleven wide-spaced matte black tines, each tipped in polished gold. Smooth and rounded for gentle lift through 3C–4C natural hair textures.
